Hi,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this.

I would like to know some information about the issue so that I could help you better.
1. Do you have multiple accounts, and you frequently use to sign-in/switch to Microsoft MS teams free?
2. Could you please provide me with a screenshot of the error? The error code that you sent as the text has got masked, it looks like systems considered it as personal information.
3. Please check that you have latest Temas app updates on your systems,
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/upda...

Besides, please try to access 'Teams Web App' https//teams.microsoft.com, use "Use the web app instead" option to open teams in a browser and check whether you sign-in without any issue. It will help to isolate the issue with the desktop app.

Regards
Nik

I just sign in with one account, and I made sure I had the latest version. I have no problem logging into a browser in https//teams.microsoft.com, it's just the application itself.

Hi Gini, Thanks for your input.

May I know if you are using your personal laptop or a work/school(domain joined) laptop?
If a user has two different Microsoft Teams accounts and has a domain-joined machine, Teams uses the domain-joined profile on the machine to automatically log the user into Teams.
To verify, please go to Windows settings > Accounts >
- Select "Access Work and School"

Meanwhile, please clear cached MS Teams login password from credentials manager:
1. Open the Credentials Manager (Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager)
2. Select Windows Credentials
3. Under Generic Credentials, you will see one called: msteams_adalsso/adal_context_segments.
Also, any credentials entry related to MS Teams and Office.
4. Delete them
5. Follow step 3-4 for Web Credentials
5. Sign out and Sign-in again
6. Restart your laptop and try accessing Ms teams app again

Regards
Nik

The computer I'm using is joined with a work account, and I cannot remove that account. It gives me the option to disconnect, I'll hit yes when prompted, and it'll temporarily show the account is gone, and then it'll just pop right back up. I even went to manage account and had it sign out everywhere.

I removed all the Web and Windows credentials of all kinds and rebooted the computer. When I launched outlook after removing all credentials and force sign out, Outlook asked for the password to login as I expected, but Teams still only asked for my email then logged me back in, and gave me the error saying it ran into an issue.

I'll try signing out and signing back in, which doesn't ask for any credentials of any kind, and I'll continue getting the same error.

Signing into the web app works perfectly fine, it's only the application itself that I'm having issues with.

Do you have any Ms team Licence assigned to your work account?
I suspect that your device is default taking your device login/work to sign-in on MS teams app. It happens if your Office device has a user policy assigned by IT Administrator.

Also, to troubleshooting, please try to off VPN, proxy or antivirus that you have on your device.

Nik

We don't have an MS License assigned to our work account. I did test it with someone else and when they log out of teams, they're prompted for both email and password when logging back in, but not me. Also other users don't have a work/school account under their account but mine does and I can't seem to get rid of it, which might be an issue behind it. I click disconnect, but it just pops back up. How do I go among removing that entirely since others don't have it?

Could you please check what all accounts do you see when you click here:
Go to windows > settings> email and app accounts

If add your personal account if you don't see one in above section.
